OOPS! The vase just fell off the shelf! Post earthquake thoughts. Vases and Flowers... and other Decor.

Decor in a model home in Oak Hill, Virginia
FLOWERS are always the best accent in a vase.

A bowl of strawberries,so pretty.
In their own world.

Vase from Peru available at Home Goods

Another vase from Peru I found at Home Goods.

I like how Home Goods classifies the vases by color.

The colors of green and blue are so pretty.

Musical Note!

Really Red!

The new CUBE to add a pop of color to any room.  Not exactly furniture or decor.

This is similar to the Fiestaware pitcher my sister lost during the earthquake this week.

The best part about collecting Fiestware is the color combination, mix it up!
My thoughts today...
The earthquake the East Coast of the United States felt this past week was not a big deal as natural disasters go but, it did rattle a few shelves.  Some valuable Fiestaware that has been in my family for a century fell off my sisters corner cabinet breaking into many pieces.  This started me thinking about vases, ceramics and decor in general.  Thus, my blog today is a collection of these items.
We are now bracing ourselves for a hurricane named Irene.  Busy week mother nature is having!  The above are photos of vases and decor from a recent tip to Home

LOVE this color blue and... the set is perfect!
The geometry of it all!

The striations in this marble bowl are so pretty!
A pretty branch and bird pattern.
Ceramic pieces available at Pottery Barn.

The centerpiece at my cousin Caroline's wedding.  Flowers in a vase are always lovely!
I think she has been taken in as a precaution until after the hurricane passes.
